Horse Back Riding in Hawaii

Every time we go to Hawaii, we make a point of doing one thing just by the two of us. This time was horse back riding. Up in north shore is a place called Turtle Bay Resort, and that's where you could ride a horse during the sunset along the beach. You don't have to be a guest of the resort to do this.
Many horses in different sizes. They will pick the right horse for you.
"Are you going to be my horse?"
"He has a gentle face."
Nice and slow ride.
You ride right on the beach!

You don't have to know how to ride a horse, the staff there will teach you and help you with everything.

You see Turtle Bay Resort from where you ride. It's a huge resort.
Map of the resort. Look how spread out it is!
Surfers at the resort

I gathered the guests here were interested in surfing as well as golfing. You can catch lots of good waves by the resort. I bet you could see sea turtles as well, though we didn't get to see them this time.
A scene from the horse back ride. Gorgeous.
Indian banyan tree. This one they said was two thousand years old!
See the sunset during the ride.

When you're on the horse, your field of vision is much higher, so everything you see seems fresh and new again. It was an experience we will remember for a long time. I highly recommend going here for a ride if you get a chance. Aloha!

Scenes from Hawaii (3)

When we stayed at the Kahala Resort in Hawaii this time, we found some photos and memorabilia from the past. It's good to see some things never change. Thank you for the memories!

The Kahala lobby 50 years ago
The Kahala lobby today
To me, this chandelier in the lobby is the symbol of the Kahala Hotel.
When I see it, I feel at home. I hope they never change it.

Do you have a place where time has been standing still for as long as you can remember? This lobby at the Kahala Resort is that place for me. Every time I step into this very spot, time instantaneously flies back to when I was a seven year-old girl.
The same glass work throughout the lobby.
I like this retro-modern look.

They had a display of memorabilia from the past. I actually remember some of these items from my childhood. Good times.

I remember the soap.

They use a card key now. Technology!

To me, Hawaii always means Kahala, and Kahala always means Hawaii. The place has a sentimental and special meaning to me.

Scenes from Hawaii

We are still organizing our photos from Hawaii. There are more than 1,000 photos, and we are deleting some. Before too long, I'd love to post some more nice ones.

Beautiful sunrise over Koko Head
Hurricane approached Hawaii.
Newspaper the day after the landfall of a hurricane.
Could have been a lot worse....
Super moon over Oahu. Ocean was lit by the moon. Beautiful.
