Bathroom Renovation Day 7

Hooray! Bathroom renovation has started back up! After curing the walls with the special water repellent coating, now they're ready to lay down tiles. This is where you get to see pretty things!! Exciting!

Diagram for the tile design

We have a new guy today just for laying tiles. This guy knows what he's doing.
Lots of tile cutting going on today.

This machine is the precise reason why we're not doing this project ourselves. In the blink of an eye, your whole hand is gone!

Lots of mixing and painting mud.

I'm being like Kona, waiting for these construction guys to come to our house and get all excited to see them. Their cars drive up, and I can hardly contain myself!

"I like the new guy!"
Most of these are going to be installed by the end of the day....

And a couple hours later that day...
We have new tiled walls!

These glass tiles are reflective and beautiful. They come in sheets like these, so they're easier and faster to install.

Beautifully done!

This wall will be all glass tiles and will be our accent wall. Hopefully, the tiles would catch light and make the room look brighter than it is.

Another wall is getting close to finish...
Detail of the wall.
We decided to put a strip of glass tiles on the slate walls for a nice flow.

The rest of the walls and the floor would be installed with these slate tiles. (They  are actually ceramic.)

"There is only so much excitement I can handle."

End of Day 7 looked like this...

Beautiful tile work
Same slate tiles for the floor

This is a recessed shelf on the bathroom wall.
The back wall of the shelf is covered with glass tiles.

He'll come back tomorrow morning to finish the rest.
