Flowers of Hawaii

Hawaii is filled with colorful flowers. Everywhere you go, you are surrounded by vivid colored plants. And the plants there are gigantic. We saw huge trees and plants that looked as if they were from the movie Jurassic Park. They must like the weather there. Who wouldn't? Take just one breath and you feel rejuvenated. I'm sure the lush greens have a lot to do with the clean air that you breathe in.

Roots are reaching down from the branches to the ground....
My hubby is admiring them

Hawaiian Comfort Food

Chicken long rice, Kalua pig, Laulau pork and Poi

We have been wanting to go to this restaurant, ONO Hawaiian Foods, but in the past trips to Hawaii, we were either too busy to go there, or we made other plans to eat somewhere else. So when we finally got to go this time, we were just giddy with excitement. Boy, do they know their pigs! Sooo yummy!

Best Mai Tai Ever

Here is what started it all! Well, for us, anyway. The original Mai Tai at the Kahala Hotel & Resort in Honolulu has the right balance of sour and sweet. They do not use the premixed sweet and sour mix. So refreshing, you wouldn't want anybody else's Mai Tai once you tasted theirs.

Be sure to order it at the Seaside Grill at the Kahala
