Pan Roasted Edamame in Shells

I saw this recipe online awhile ago, and I've been wanting to try it myself. Roasting enhances the flavor and adds smokiness to the edamame. Just a little extra touch brings it up a notch!

Browned shells

Pan Roasted Edamame in Shells

2 cups frozen edamame
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp salt

Wash frozen edamame under running water drain. Dry them with a paper towel. Sprinkle salt. Add edamame on dry skillet and turn the heat to med/high. Add water to the skillet and put a lid on to steam cook for about 5 minutes. reduce the heat to med. Remove the lid and continue cooking until all the moisture is gone and the shells are starting to brown.

Roasting adds smokiness.
