Vesper Martini Revisited

When we went to New York to see my sister, we had the pleasure of having a Vesper martini with a new take. The Lillet available today is not the same as Kina Lillet used to make the original Vesper martini. A bartender in NYC told us that Cocchi Americano is in fact closer in flavor to the actual Kina Lillet. Sure enough, the martini he made was delightful. So here I am revisiting the recipe for the famous Vesper martini. Try it yourself and see if Cocchi Americano is a better choice for this drink. 



Vesper Martini (with Cocchi Americano)

3 measures Gordon's gin
1 measure vodka
1/2 measure Cocchi Americano 
Shake it over ice and add a large thin lemon peel
