Mint Julep Iced Tea

No need to be at the Kentucky Derby

I did not have bourbon, so I used Jameson, but it still tasted mighty good. I mixed ceylon tea and peach tea, both of which smelled insanely good. I sweetened it with the elderberry flower syrup and agave nectar, and added some club soda to make it even more refreshing.

Mint Julep Iced Tea

2 bags of peach tea
1 bag of ceylon tea
1/2 cup Jameson whiskey
10 oz club soda
1 Tbsp  elderberry flower syrup
1 1/2 Tbsp agave nectar
1/2 lemon squeezed
Lemon slices and lime slices
A few sprigs of mint

Put lots of ice cubes in a pitcher. Steep tea in a sauce pan with warm water, about a cup, add syrup and dissolve well in the tea. Cool it down and pour it in the pitcher. Toss in sprigs of mint. Stir in whiskey and club soda. Squeeze lemon in. Add lemon and lime slices. Stir and serve.

Peach tea makes it Georgia style

Traditionally, you don't add iced tea in the mint julep, but I think the flavor and the smell of your favorite tea would make it such a refreshing summer drink. It's like good ole southern sweetened iced tea, only with a kick. Don't skimp on the mint!
